Saibabu Quad Amputee

Whole process of fabrication of the stubbies as it is not an easy device to fabricate and more complicated if the upper extremities are missing.
History: Around 3 years back he had Electrical shock due to High Tension Electrical wire has touched when he was doing some cultivation activities. Due to this two of his hands and legs have burned later he was admitted in the hospital and removed both of his legs and hands. He was married and blessed with one child , unfortunately , his first marriage day the above incident took place. After that he had one more child.

Later through some of his friends , they knew about The Ability Centre , Visakhapatnam. Visited and appealed for independent through a local NGO. Our expert clinical team with technical support from MIRRTC, Bangalore has assessed and finalized the development programme.

We brought the modified cluches from MI, Bangalore and in TAP with the expert team from MI modified the same devices and fixed to him. Mr Saibabu is confident and willingness to accept challenges, we are able to initiate GAIT training ASAP. We are sure within 10 days of his training he could able to manage walk himself without any assistant.

Our assessment of Sai Kumar suggests that he will need to walk on stubbies for quite some times as he has lost upper limbs also. It’s not easy. The earlier stubbies from wherever he has got was badly fitting him and he has not been able to use them. New measurements were taken and fresh sockets are made and they are fitting him well.

This is not the end of the things as he will need to visit the centre again after 3-4 months to get the height increased and this could go on for almost an year before he could be fitted with definitive prostheses. That’s the actual line of management.

The actual expenses towards fabricating stubbies could be much higher and one need to consider all the aspects of assessments, measurements, fittings, training, etc and everything comes at a cost.

We request to support for Sai Kumar’s program cost which is $ 1200.
